Why I started solo traveling at 18
Solo travel wasn't about being alone. It was about learning to trust myself in a world full of unknowns.
I took my first real solo trip at 18. I was nervous, overpacked, and convinced I'd get lost the moment I stepped off the plane. I did get lost — more than once — and it turned out to be the best part.
Solo travel forces you to pay attention. You notice who helps you, who ignores you, who smiles back. You learn to read a room, a map, and your own gut. The confidence that builds isn't loud; it's the quiet kind that stays with you.
Someplace exists because of those trips. Every itinerary I plan carries that same belief: travel should make you feel more capable, more curious, and more alive.
