Good to know before you book
US passport holders need a Brazil eVisa (about $80) and should apply weeks ahead. This is a cities, falls, and beach route at gentle altitudes, with plenty of walking in Rio and Sao Paulo. International flights are not included (flights between the trip's own stops are).
Entry requirements can change, we confirm yours at booking.

Meet your host
I'm Dyana, the founder of Someplace. I plan every route myself and host each trip in person, from the welcome dinner to the farewell lunch. Before building Someplace I spent years solo traveling and sharing the journey as a travel content creator, and I bring that same eye for detail to every trip.

How booking works
Three payments, spread out, with nothing charged automatically. We email you a secure payment link and a reminder before each one is due.
- Step 1: Reserve your spot. A $500 deposit per person holds your spot. When booking opens for a trip, we email the waitlist the deposit link first. Your spot is confirmed once the deposit is paid.
- Step 2: Second payment. 90 days before departure, 50% of your remaining balance is due.
- Step 3: Final balance. 45 days before departure, the rest is due. Then all that is left is to pack.
Example, on the Colombia trip ($2,800 per person): $500 deposit, then $1,150 at 90 days out, then $1,150 at 45 days out.
Full payment and cancellation terms live on our cancellation policy page.
Frequently asked questions
- Q: What is included, and what is not included?
- A: Included: hotels, ground transport between stops, and domestic flights between the trip's own stops. Breakfast every day, lunch on touring days, and welcome and farewell dinners plus select dinners along the way. Every activity listed on the itinerary is included, with local guides. Not included: your international flights to and from South America, meals that are not listed, drinks, personal expenses, and travel insurance.
- Q: How big is the group?
- A: Small on purpose: 8 to 12 guests. Big enough to be fun and share costs, small enough that nobody gets lost in the crowd.
- Q: Who hosts the trip?
- A: Dyana, the founder of Someplace, hosts every trip in person. She plans the whole route, travels with the group from start to finish, and is your first call for anything on the road. Local guides join us for activities and sights along the way.
- Q: How fit do I need to be?
- A: General fitness is plenty. Touring days can mean a few hours of walking, some stairs, and a few early starts, with downtime built in. Peru includes stops at high altitude, and the itinerary gives the group time to adjust. If you have a specific concern, email us before booking and we will be honest about whether the trip fits.
- Q: Can I come solo?
- A: Yes, and most guests do. Someplace trips are built for solo travelers who want company on the road. You will share a room with another guest, or you can request a single room (see below).
- Q: How does room sharing work? Can I get a single room?
- A: Prices are per person based on two guests sharing a twin room. Traveling with a friend or partner? We will room you together. Coming solo, we pair you with another solo guest. Single rooms can be requested when you book and are priced at booking, based on what the hotels charge us. We confirm availability before anything is final.
- Q: When do I pay what?
- A: $500 deposit to reserve, 50% of the remaining balance 90 days before departure, and the final balance 45 days before departure. See "How booking works" above. If booking has not opened for your trip yet, join the waitlist and the deposit link will land in your inbox the moment it does.
- Q: What if I need to cancel?
- A: Life happens, and you can also transfer your spot to another person instead of cancelling. The full refund schedule is on our cancellation policy page, in plain language.
- Q: Do I need travel insurance?
- A: We strongly recommend it, especially coverage for trip cancellation and medical care abroad. The best time to buy it is right after you book, while the most options are open to you.
- Q: How do I hold a spot?
- A: Join the waitlist on this page. When booking opens, we email the waitlist a deposit link, and paying the $500 deposit is what holds your spot. No payment is taken for the waitlist itself.
