How booking works
A deposit holds your spot, and the rest is split into easy monthly payments, charged automatically through our booking partner. You can always pay extra or settle early.
- Step 1: Reserve your spot. A $500 deposit per person holds your spot. When booking opens for a trip, we email the waitlist the booking link first. Your spot is confirmed once the deposit is paid.
- Step 2: Monthly installments. The remaining balance is split into equal monthly installments, charged automatically to your card on file. No lump sums, no chasing payment links.
- Step 3: Final installment. Your last installment lands before departure, and then all that is left is to pack.
Example: $500 deposit, then the remaining balance in equal monthly installments until the trip.
Full payment and cancellation terms live on our cancellation policy page.
Frequently asked questions
- Q: What is included, and what is not included?
- A: The route and inclusions are being finalized. International flights are not included. Join the waitlist for the final plan and first access when booking opens.
- Q: How big is the group?
- A: Small on purpose: 8 to 12 guests. Big enough to be fun and share costs, small enough that nobody gets lost in the crowd.
- Q: Who hosts the trip?
- A: Hosted by Dyana.
- Q: How fit do I need to be?
- A: The route is still being finalized. We will share activity and physical requirements with the final plan before booking opens.
- Q: Can I come solo?
- A: Of course. Most guests come solo, and plenty come with a friend, a partner, or their favorite travel buddy. Someplace is built for anyone who wants to go, solo or not. If you come solo, I'll match you with a roommate myself, or you can upgrade to a private room. If you come with someone, you room together.
- Q: How does room sharing work? Can I get a single room?
- A: Prices are per person based on two guests sharing a twin room. Traveling with a friend or partner? We will room you together. Coming solo, we pair you with another solo guest. Single rooms can be requested when you book and are priced at booking, based on what the hotels charge us. We confirm availability before anything is final.
- Q: When do I pay what?
- A: $500 deposit to reserve, then the rest in equal monthly installments, charged automatically, with the final installment due before departure. You can pay extra or settle your balance early anytime. See How booking works above. If booking has not opened for your trip yet, join the waitlist and the booking link will land in your inbox the moment it does.
- Q: What if I need to cancel?
- A: Life happens, and you can also transfer your spot to another person instead of cancelling. The full refund schedule is on our cancellation policy page, in plain language.
- Q: Do I need travel insurance?
- A: Yes. Travel insurance is required for every Someplace guest. At minimum, your policy has to cover emergency medical care abroad and medical evacuation, and we strongly recommend trip cancellation coverage on top. You can add insurance while you book, or bring your own policy and send us proof by your final payment date.
- Q: How do I hold a spot?
- A: Join the waitlist on this page. When booking opens, we email the waitlist a deposit link, and paying the $500 deposit is what holds your spot. No payment is taken for the waitlist itself.
